Careless Actions Can Break a Family

As I woke to see the beautiful blue sky and felt the warmth of the sun on my face, I looked forward to my morning walk along the lake. As gorgeous as it appears, the recent accidental sludge spills from the sewage treatment plant that dumped into the Clyde River, and empties into the lake, have cast a city into turmoil. Twice this tragedy has happened over the past few months, and people are casting uneducated blame on the officials.
While I walked slowly contemplating the sharp-tongued comments on social media, I had to try hard not to even think to call those people morons. With a defeated feeling and a sigh of disappointment, I heard the faint little chirps of five little goslings, feeding on dandelions along the bank. It wasn’t long before Mama let me know they were there and that I should maybe walk around them. I stood and watched the little ones fight over a single dandelion that had gone to seed, pulling the stem between them.
“The mother goose isn’t much different than I am”, I thought to myself because she quickly stepped in and broke up the fight as I have done with the squabbles between my children. My silent laugh and smile immediately turned to a horrible thought of agony and…
